OpenDevIndex is a source-backed technical index. Inclusion is not an endorsement, sponsorship, or product ranking.
Prefer primary and canonical references:
- official project or standards documentation;
- canonical source repositories;
- original security advisories or research;
- reputable secondary material only when primary material is insufficient.
Generated text, search snippets, social posts, and marketing copy are not treated as authoritative sources on their own.
Technical claims should be specific enough to verify and conservative enough to remain useful. Avoid unsupported superlatives, invented benchmarks, popularity claims without evidence, and assumptions about licensing or security.
A reachable link is not proof that a claim is correct. Source Health checks availability; editorial review checks whether the cited material actually supports the entry.
Use docs/TAXONOMY.md. Stable module addresses and semantic taxonomy are separate. New entries should choose the best canonical kind and use domains for cross-cutting areas such as AI, security, cloud, data, accessibility, media, and observability.
verified_at records when catalog metadata was reviewed against its cited sources. It is not a guarantee that every upstream project changed on that date. Fast-moving entries should be reviewed more frequently, and stale verification dates are intended to become visible through maintenance tooling.
Corrections are welcome when they include a clear explanation and, where possible, a primary source. Material factual errors should be corrected promptly without waiting for a scheduled content milestone.
OpenDevIndex does not rank technologies based on sponsorship, affiliate relationships, or commercial pressure. Alternatives and trade-offs should be described neutrally when they materially help developers make decisions.
