Evaluator crashes when it can't reach the app server #69

If the evaluator cannot reach the app server, for e.g. when polling for new jobs, it crashes.

On our current setup, systemd then restarts it. Instead, catch the exception and retry. Perhaps some form of backoff might be a good idea in case the app server is overloaded.
