"Human-readable" change results in speeds always showing in Bytes/s (B/s)

After this commit came in, with rsync 3.5.1 stable release, my speeds are always showing as B/s. There's no automatic change to KB/M/GB / s or similar, so often when speeds increase I get gigantic numbers in the transfer space...

I'm just using rsync -avP from a remote ssh host to my local machine. Just wondering if there's some new flag or anything I can set to have it default to kB/s , or if I'll be staying with rsync 3.4.1 for the foreseable future...

Wasn't sure this was a "bug" given the manual page was rewritten to reference B/s too

Hi there! Add -h to your command:

rsync -avhP user@host:/source/ /destination/

With the formatting change in the commit you linked, progress rates use the same human-readable setting as the byte counts. The default level adds digit separators but leaves values in bytes. One -h enables scaled units based on 1000; -hh uses 1024 instead.

So -avhP gives scaled KB/s, MB/s, etc., and -avhhP gives KiB/s, MiB/s, etc. Rates below the relevant threshold still display in bytes.

This is not included within 3.5.1; our dev builds identify as latest it seems? Probably best to change the default to one h, much appreciated.

This is what I should've mentioned in my OP, indeed perhaps a default of -h would be nice, especially for regular users (since, in my case, I was taken aback a bit, and kind of stumbling through manual and help flags trying to find a solution).
