Issue Description
When I verify my Cinny (web) device, either through the emoji or recovery key verification, it seems to succeed (UI reports success), but the device stays unverified. Even if I refresh the exact same client I just verified, and look in the list of devices, it still shows itself as unverified.
Expected Behavior
I would expect it to verify successfully
Actual Behavior
The application does not verify (as reported both by itself and by other clients such as Element Web)
Reproduction Steps
- Open Cinny
- Try to verify
- It succeeds
- Refresh and look at the list of devices
Environment
- OS: NixOS
- Browser: Ungoogled Chromium
- Cinny Web Version: app.cinny.in
- Matrix homeserver: matrix.org
Relevant Logs
I get constant spam of this in the console about once per second (regardless of verification going on):
index-B6qlmLpc.js:13 Failed to process outgoing request 0: M_UNKNOWN: MatrixError: [400] One time key signed_curve25519:AAAAAAAAAA8 already exists. Old key: {"key":"[redacted]","signatures":{"@[redacted]:matrix.org":{"ed25519:[redacted]":"[redacted]"}}}; new key: {'key': '[redacted]', 'signatures': {'@[redacted]:matrix.org': {'ed25519:[redacted]': '[redacted]'}}} (https://matrix-client.matrix.org/_matrix/client/v3/keys/upload)
Not sure whether that is related.
Additional context
Other people in chat reported similar issues, and that for them unregistering the Cinny device and then re-adding it did not show the problem.
I acknowledge that:
