I understand that Python Markdown does not parse things exactly as you wish. With that said, you can use the GitHub parser or the GitLab parser if you prefer.

When Sublime finally gets the next stable release out that ships with Python 3.14, I can consider adding an additional CommonMark parser for offline use, but until then, Python Markdown is the only offline parser available by default.
