| description | The path a finished translation takes from review request to merged pull request. |
Translations reach the repository through review, not directly. A finished translation becomes a review request; an approved review request becomes a pull request; merging that pull request puts the translation live.
This is why the role a person holds matters: Translators can create review requests but not pull requests.
Once a file has been translated, Create Review Request appears at the top of the editor. Creating one notifies the team and opens a discussion on the change.
Feedback appears under the Conversation tab in the Review Requests section. Language Moderators and Admins can edit a translation while it is awaiting review.
When a moderator approves the work, they open a pull request against the repository. Each contributor's work is preserved as their own commit, so authorship survives the round trip.
The pull request is an ordinary GitHub pull request, reviewed and merged like any other. The translation goes live when it is merged — GitLocalize does not merge it for you.
Only Language Moderators and Admins can open pull requests, and a Language Moderator only for the language they moderate.
