How to set cost on MemoryConfig? Does the totalCostLimit even work?

On 'MemoryStorage' class NSCache is created. How do I set the cost while adding the object? The totalCostLimit is passed to the NSCache eventually but since we cannot set the cost anywhere - will that serve any purpose?
