Port replicators not only allow to connect an external monitor but USB devices as well. Here, traditional PC keyboards with all their modifier keys should work (e.g. ALT-F4, Windows-Menu, Windows-Key, CTRL-ALT-Del, ...) as well as e.g. a scroll wheel or further buttons if available. (Depending on the IOS translations of certain keys might be required to get the expected behavior)
