Bottles v61.1 doesn't work - SOLVED

Kernel: Linux 6.18.7-2-cachyos
Shell: fish 4.3.3
Bottles v61.1

Forced to update runner from syswine v10 to syswine v11 - it never finishes (cog-wheel just keeps going) and nothing happens.
Run from terminal, bottles shows that it's trying to load wine from /app/bin/wine (....which doesn't exist) -

/app/bin/wine '/home/kev/.var/app/com.usebottles.bottles/data/bottles/bottles/Empires/drive_c/Program Files/EE/Addon/EE-AOC.exe'

Why does it take forever to switch from one runner to another? It's been this way since the very first version of Bottles I used many years ago.

dont finish installs, take forever now! destroyed my bottles and my freeday after work to game !! nice one !!!! thanks!!!

Yeah, I've been trying to fix it for 2 days now - still no success! I did get my game running through normal wine through a terminal, so I know that wine is not the problem.

I managed to get it nearly working through bottles, but the screen was blinking wildly on mouse movement and was impossible to work with.

It could be a CachyOS problem, I'm going to reinstall now, see if that fixes it.

Bottles 61.1

I have just opened bottles today and it greeted me with a dialogue "no runner found, reinstall it". When going to the settings, soda 9 was chosen and I changed it to syswine-11 - which also took forever to load. I decided to restart bottles and change the runner again. This time it worked with finishing but when opening my program, it showed me the first time starting it, that there was no graphics card found. Now when starting it, it will never open a window at all but just stop running immediately. I have created a new bottle and it's the same, for soda-9 as for wine-11. Trying to disable all stuff and enable it, reinstalling d3d dependencies as well as gecko and mono did not work.

I completely re-installed CachyOS, and now Bottles (...and my game) works perfectly - sorry for any stress caused. Regards.

I feel like a reinstall of your whole OS should not be a solution 😵

You're absolutely correct, it's extremely annoying - but luckily it worked. I honestly don't have the time/patience/sanity/excess hair to pull out and mess around going down endless rabbit-holes any more. It's a feature of getting older :D. It seems it's also a feature of CachyOS, I really like it, and when it works it works well - just DON'T EVER UPDATE IT until they release a new iso! Having said that, I've tested many Distros and sadly it seems it's a horrible trend these days to make Linux more like WinBlows. Regards.
