How to use gRPC with PlayFramework?

I am looking at the repo: https://github.com/playframework/play-grpc, but I don't understand how it should work.

Some of the questions that I have:

• How does it open a new set of routes for gRPC? e.g. with a new prefix to separate them from normal endpoints? or with a separate port?
• At first, I just wanted to encode / decode the payload with Protobuf and wired the routes myself. But it seems I can use gRPC that does both encoding + routes. Not sure if I understand it correctly.
• Is there a simple example that integrates with Play?

I'm also a bit new to gRPC, so I might miss some context.
