Issue with PrimeHub firmware 4.0.0 and hub_menu() #2731

Program slots are not unique to block code. People can have multiple Python programs for similar reasons. For example:
I could see this being quite useful. For example you could have a remote control program always on slot 5 so you have an easy way to test mechanics for the person not programming. Slots are documented in the getting started guide.

Our kids struggled at their FLL scrimmage this weekend because the new firmware had slots. The kids were expecting the hub to go directly to their hub_menu. Instead, they had to select the right slot to get to the hub_menu before they could then select which mission to run. We would like to disable slots so that the team can code a single simple menu without having to worry about selecting a slot first. We understand why slots could be useful for some situations, but when using hub_menu, it complicates the experience. |

Lauren could there be a way to force out menu() code to be be in a specific slot programmatically. another option would be programmatically push the menu code and associated programs to all the slots.... but I still would like a way to disable slots for menu_based configuration of the robot btw, the new motor angle and sensor status on the bottom of the app is AWESOME!!!!! |

Since it is open source you can compile your own firmware, just follow the steps here https://github.com/pybricks/pybricks-micropython/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md. You can change the number of slots by changing the precompiler macros |

i'm running Pybricks Code v3.0.0 with firmware v4.0.0 on a Spike Prime hub
how do i disable the the new 5 slot mode which was primarily intended for Block Coding mode?
we run hub_menu() in python and don't want to confuse the kids with the new slot mode.
also. unless i'm missing something the new 5 slot mode isn't discussed in the docs.
thanks
