alternative "esc" (eg jj / jk)

currently to move to normal mode, one would have to hit escape.
however there are other common alternatives that vim users do, like jj / jk. explore what is common and consider adding this as a configuration (either a fixed binding with enable/disable, or a complex configuration where the user decides the binding entirely)

Before you implement it though, can you suggest a plan?
How do you imagine the configuration of this? Jk on/off, or jk/jj/off? Or something else?
What would be the default?
Lets discuss a bit before (or after if you prefer)

I believe someone else said they were the ones who wanted to take a stab at it, then removed their comment.

Either way, even without the functionality I'm enjoying the plugin!
