This is most likely a problem with either mpv or ffmpeg. It is not a smplayer issue. smplayer is just a GUI, it does not decode and display the video. It looks like the output gamma curve does not match the original video gamma, most probably due to an improperly encoded video file. You should compare the logs generated by mpv and mpc-hc (where it plays correctly) to see if both players are reading the video parameters correctly. |

Problem: Windows Media Player and MPC-HC both look identical, but SMPlayer is just... oversaturated I guess? (see below snapshots)
Last time I used it was probably May 17th, and the screenshot I just took in MPC-HC of the same frame of the same video matches the aforementioned screenshot exactly. So~ what happened?
Attempts: Installing smplayer-25.6.0-x64-unsigned.exe over v24.x didn't help. Neither did uninstalling and reinstalling.
