Bot Registration / Solution for THING_NOT_FOUND errors

I noticed recently the bot getting a bunch of "THING_NOT_FOUND" errors, as I checked, it turned out all the impacted comments were under NSFW posts. (I also think that reddit automatically changed visibility, such that factorions comments and posts are no longer visible on the profile, likely incorrectly detecting it as a potential child)

During that I stumbled over a post on r/redditdev announcing a move to an app status and registration for bot accounts. Registering factorion-bot seems like a good idea, and might even help with the problems regarding nsfw and changing of visibility settings.

I think the real reason the bot won't reply in nswf subs is the newly added age verification thing.

I did set a birthdate to 01.01.96 for the bot, but I can't verify the age without giving my face/ID to persona (which is Palantir iirc)

Also I see a warning in the user settings for the bot now:

Further I can see that the bot doesn't get any messages from people who messaged the bot after the age restriction change (3 days ago). The bot still replies to people who messaged before though

Yeah, that's what I meant, the bot is classed as a child and so is very restricted (closed Profile, no messages, no nsfw, etc.)

Also about Persona, it apparently isn't directly linked to Palantir, just both largely owned by Peter Thiel, but Persona has given data to the US Government (FinCEN) and has indications to further links especially in intelligence (also has references to some project onyx, which is suspiciously close to ICE's ONYX). So nothing I will give my data to (got the same restrictions on my alt).

I just hope that bot verification might reassess the estimated age, using the owner accounts info. (Would be pretty dumb otherwise, but it would have to sadly stay the way it is now)

Yeah you're right, it's not directly Palantir but I would be surprised if they are not sharing data in secret.
I have already contacted reddit support in hope that they'll lift the restriction on factorion, as the user needs to be able to reply to all comments, otherwise the functionality is restricted.

Also about the spammy issues: they came from an account that seemingly has a connection to the UTSC (a Chinese university) and came right after I accused someone (a Chinese student) of vibe coding a project. So I think you should be safe, looks like the student just wanted to let some steam off
