Prompt disappears when changing model

Prompt disappears when changing model. Sometimes the prompt can be recovered by returning to the model you just left, but not always. Can find no way to turn this destructive behavior off.

Are you switching between edit mode / non edit mode? They have their own prompts.

Prompts should not be destroyed between modes - this is new and extremely annoying.

They are not destroyed, each mode saves the last prompt used and restores it on mode switch.

Edit prompts are never the same as generation prompts, so it makes sense to track them separately.

Agreed, switching back and forth cycles your prompts between edit/generate. Though I do see it being unintuitive at first, and, I also still find it interrupting to a degree I also still very much see the logic around this in practice, unfortunately I've not been blessed by the practice working for me in a positive way.

Given the text area is the literal "text prompt" editor, unambiguous most other places mentioned but the plugin (The placeholder text is even the same) and there isn't a visual feedback, so certainly see from a UX perspective the value proporsition here for a settings toggle, (Default | [Separate | distinguish] between Edit & Generation prompts)

Anecdotally and not directly related, I've had prompts being "lost" when removing a group layer* linked to a region with a regional text prompt.

*If of interest I will try and replicate, as I know this isn't always so my hunch is it happens if a generation has been applied (guessing) using "generate only active region" and then removing the group with the applied generation inside as a layer.

Forgot to send this comment yesterday, hit the right buttons coincidentally.

Steps to reproduce a situation for the un-related-to-this-issue-but "prompt does delete" "unrecoverable"* event.

1. Link layer#1 to regional prompt
2. Write some text in active prompt region
3. Try hitting 'x' in the active region prompt before starting over with step 1. and then skipping step 3. - Prompt stays when hitting 'x']
4. Create a new paint layer
5. Link the new layer with the same regional prompt as layer#1
6. Hit 'x' to remove the region

Both layers unlinked and prompt removed

I have noticed this. Its logical by the developer. But to satisfy best of both worlds, a switch in the settings to turn this feature on or off could mitigate this.
