Boing is an independent Layer 1 where quality is enforced by the protocol. A decentralized, high-performance blockchain built from first principles, with transparent, protocol-level quality assurance (the Boing Quality Gate).

TypeScript: install @boing-network/boing-sdk@^0.5.40 from npm (npm i @boing-network/boing-sdk), or build the in-repo package under boing-sdk/ for monorepo / file: consumers. See boing-sdk/README.md. Do not install unscoped boing-sdk (abandoned/locked on npm).
Tutorial CLI from repo root (after boing-sdk build + examples/native-boing-tutorial install): npm run preflight-rpc, npm run deploy-native-dex-full-stack, npm run fetch-native-amm-reserves, npm run print-native-dex-routes. Full command map: docs/NODE-OPERATOR-COMMANDS.md.
The boing-node binary does not auto-create pools or seed reserves on first start. Operators run the tutorial orchestrator against a live RPC when they want a native DEX stack.
Set BOING_CHAIN_ID and BOING_CHAIN_NAME so boing_getNetworkInfo and boing_health expose chain metadata to wallets (docs/RPC-API-SPEC.md).
Browser dApps need CORS: extra origins via BOING_RPC_CORS_EXTRA_ORIGINS. GET /ws supports a newHeads WebSocket (handshake in boing_getNetworkInfo.developer). Machine-readable API: boing_getRpcMethodCatalog and boing_getRpcOpenApi.
Ops probes on the same port: GET /live, GET /ready, JSON-RPC batch on POST /, optional X-Request-Id. Details live with the rest of the RPC surface in docs/RPC-API-SPEC.md.
Operator RPC is fail-closed. Operator-only methods (fee/QA policy, slash appeals, BLS key registration, blob sample offers, admin-only QA votes) are rejected with -32057 unless the node has BOING_OPERATOR_RPC_TOKEN set and the request sends a matching X-Boing-Operator header. On mainnet (chain id 6914) the node refuses to start without the token or with --faucet-enable. See docs/ENVIRONMENT-VARIABLES.md and docs/RUNBOOK.md.
