Release status: Source is public. The Pebble app-store release and downloadable 0.3.11 binary are awaiting the compatible signed/notarized Connector release. Do not assume the currently available Connector includes this release; app and companion availability will be announced together.
Your Mac calendars, on Pebble. Browse All, a Custom selection, or an individual calendar; read event details and see how long until each event begins.
Eventz 0.3.11 supports Pebble Time / Time Steel (Basalt) and Pebble Time 2 (Emery). Touch controls require a touchscreen watch. This is a read-only calendar app: it does not create, edit or delete events, or schedule alarms.
- A Mac with macOS 14 or later, kept awake and online with Organik Apps Pebble Connector running whenever you want fresh events. Closing a laptop lid or letting the Mac sleep can stop access. The display may sleep if the Mac remains awake.
- Organik Apps Pebble Connector for Mac. Use the GitHub-download release named in the Eventz release notes. An older Mac App Store build may not include the same app support.
- Calendars that are visible and synced in the Mac's Calendar app, plus macOS Calendars permission for the Connector. Eventz reads those calendars through EventKit; it does not sign directly into Google, Microsoft or other calendar providers.
- Tailscale installed, signed in and connected on both the Mac and the paired phone, in the same private tailnet. This is required by Eventz's pairing/connection flow and allows access away from home. Follow the Connector's private connection setup; no public port forwarding or Tailscale Funnel is needed.
- The Pebble phone app and a paired, supported watch. Keep the phone able to reach the watch and the Mac's private Tailscale connection.
- Download the Connector from the link above, install it in Applications and open it. Enable Eventz in the Connector.
- Allow full Calendars access when macOS asks. Confirm your calendars appear in the Mac Calendar app. In the Connector, bring Eventz's calendar permission, Mac service and private connection indicators to ready.
- Connect Tailscale on the Mac and phone. On the Mac, choose Connect Phone for Eventz to display a one-time QR code.
- Scan the QR with your phone's camera and choose Copy pairing details on the page it opens. The code expires after ten minutes and can be used once; generate another if needed.
- Open Pebble → Eventz → Settings. Paste the copied text into Pairing details, choose Use pairing details, then Test connection.
- Choose which calendars to show, select calendars for Custom, and choose Save and apply. Open Eventz on the watch.
Pairing is a QR-to-copy/paste flow, not a scan-only handoff. Treat the copied details as a password. See setup and troubleshooting and privacy.
- All, Custom, then your enabled individual calendars. Settings can hide calendars, show sample events, and reorder enabled calendars using the Calendar Order drag-and-drop list.
- Event lists start today, including ongoing events. The initial snapshot covers two weeks back and six months ahead. Paging and date jumps load further windows from the Mac as needed; six months is not a navigation limit.
- Each watch page holds up to eight events (ten calendar entries), with a one-item overlap between adjacent pages. Records stay in chronological order regardless of the display format.
- Date/time and event title share the main font. All and Custom also show the source calendar; an individual calendar already names its source in the header. A countdown is always shown in event details and can optionally appear in event lists.
- Date/time settings include ordering, weekday/month names, year style and 12/24-hour time. The default resembles
Mon Jun 8 - 7:30pm; event lists add the chosen year only for events outside the current year. - Main and subtitle fonts have independent size choices. Choose from seven font families, theme presets, Pebble's 64-color palette, and adjustable selected-item marquee speed and pause.
Buttons: Up/Down scroll; Select opens; Back returns. Hold actions can advance by hour, day, week, month or year. All hold actions advance forward. Hold Select on the calendar menu to refresh.
Touch: Drag to scroll. Tap an unselected row to highlight it, then tap again to open. After the first or last item is selected, another outward swipe pages. Swipe right or use the top-left Back control to return. Lists use the screen without artificial end padding; only the selected item marquees.
The phone snapshot is held in memory. Fresh loads, paging outside that snapshot and manual refresh need the awake Mac. Persistent offline storage and automatic background refresh are not included.
Eventz 0.3.11 is prepared as a draft release; a public binary download will be added after the compatible Connector is live. See release notes. Use the compatible Connector download identified in the release notes.
Run node --test tests/*.test.js for the 35-test suite. ./scripts/check.sh additionally builds Basalt and Emery and writes a PBW into dist/. The public package preserves the accepted runtime bytes and sanitizes one debug source-map build path. Record both hashes when repackaging.
