Quick Start (Local Dev)

Prerequisites

• Node.js 20+
• Docker & Docker Compose
• Git

Setup

1. Clone repository:

git clone https://github.com/yourusername/zenoide.git
cd zenoide

2. Copy environment file:

cp .env.local.example .env.local

3. Update .env.local:

   • AUTH_SECRET — session signing key (AUTH_SECRET=dev-secret-zenoide-local-only for local dev)
   • GITHUB_CLIENT_ID / GITHUB_CLIENT_SECRET — GitHub OAuth App credentials
   • ANTHROPIC_API_KEY — Anthropic API key for AI features
   • REDIS_URL — Redis connection (redis://localhost:6379 for local dev)
   • DATABASE_URL — Postgres connection (postgres://postgres:postgres@localhost:5433/zenoide)
   • STRIPE_SECRET_KEY — Stripe secret key (sk_test_... in dev)
   • STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET — Stripe webhook secret (whsec_...)

4. Start Docker stack:

.\scripts\docker-dev.ps1 start

# macOS/Linux
./scripts/docker-dev.sh start

5. Install dependencies:

npm install

6. Run development server:

npm run dev

7. Open http://localhost:3000
