Update the Discover steps on the APM OpenTelemetry metrics and Elastic Defend offline pages for ES|QL mode #9187

Open

Description

@florent-leborgne

Problem

Two pages tell readers to select a data view in Discover. {{kib}} now opens Discover in {{esql}} mode by default, where there is no data view menu. PR #9017 adds a note to switch to classic mode on both pages. Each page needs a real {{esql}} path.

Pages

  • solutions/observability/apm/opentelemetry/collect-metrics.md: the verification steps select All logs → Data Views → APM, then filter with processor.name :"metric" and order_value: *. An {{esql}} path needs the indices behind the APM data view and equivalent WHERE clauses.
  • solutions/security/configure-elastic-defend/configure-offline-endpoints-air-gapped-environments.md: the step searches the metrics-* data view for endpoint.policy response documents. An {{esql}} path needs the data stream or fields to query, and the screenshot shows classic mode.

Context

Found while sweeping the docs for Discover steps that assume a data view, as part of #4898 and #8973.
