In Ruby 1.9.3 and Rails 3.1.x, opening the ESHQ like this
socket = ESHQ.open(channel: 'channel')
results in this problem
LoadError: cannot load such file -- {"presence_id":null,"channel":"chat","socket":"..."}
The problem is with the multi_json version (<1.3.4) that comes with this Rails version
activesupport (3.1.10)
multi_json (>= 1.0, < 1.3)
and it has some kind of conflict for MultiJson.load used in this gem you can read about here and here.
Changing the gem code to use decode solves this problem, but a better way is maybe to detect which to use - decode or load.
I'll make a pull request for this shortly.
