What does it do?

  • Update rubocop config to allow it to pass
  • Simplify gemspec and Gemfile
  • Fix broken spec for modern ruby versions
  • Simplify Gemfile and Rakefile
  • Remove .travis.yml
  • Rename build matrix gemfiles to be more conventional
  • Limit gemspec to minitest <6
  • Add CI GitHub action

What else do you need to know?

Note

This PR has no real functional changes and really only limits the dependencies to minitest <= 5 while also trying to get the CI suite back to green using Github Actions.

  • The goal of this PR is to get the test suite up to snuff and prepare for a new patch-level release (v2.4.7) of guard-minitest that is limited to minitest <= 5.
  • Afterwards, prepare another PR that adds minitest 6 support and prepares for a v3.0.0 release of guard-minitest

Build matrix can be seen passing here: rmm5t#1

If someone from the guard core team can enable the github actions to run on this PR, much appreciation!

Thanks @rmm5t! I don't know how to run Actions on this PR? I'm mainly using GitLab so I'm kind of lost in GitHub now. 😛

@rymai Thank you!

If willing to add me to rubygems and as a collaborator here, I'm happy to get a release version out (likely v2.4.7 or v2.5.0) that limits this gem to minitest <=5 for better bundler dependency management.

My handle on rubygems is the same as github (rmm5t).

Then, I can follow-up with cleaning up #164 and prepping for a v3.0.0 of guard-minitest that is limited to minitest >=5, <7.
