I write backend and infrastructure code in Dublin. Right now I'm interning at Huawei's Ireland Research Centre on a Rust AI gateway and doing an MSc at TU Dublin.
Most of my side projects start with something annoying me:
- isitfull.ie: I kept carrying bags of empties to recycling machines that turned out to be full, so I built a crowdsourced map of 2,300+ of them. It got a Judges' Special Commendation at the Re-Turn Awards 2026.
- Auralink: smart-glasses navigation for people with visual impairments, running a depth model at ~30 FPS on a phone CPU. The team won NovaUCD's One to Watch 2026.
- ai-web-gen: describe a website and an LLM builds it. The model is always confident. npm doesn't care.
A lot of my work lives in private repos. Happy to walk through any of it.
