Summary

  • author automated version-bump pull requests through the Azure Pipelines GitHub App
  • forward the published-versions artifact from the matching bump run through the ESRP release pipeline
  • align TSDoc with the identity and artifact flow used by RushStack publishing

Why

The bump pipeline currently uses checkout: self, whose persisted credentials authenticate as the rushbot user. Automated bump PR #491 therefore required a Microsoft CLA signature. The temporary CLA-signoff run (12739) completed successfully without producing published-versions, displacing the valid artifact build and breaking downstream ODSP dependency updates.

Separately, TSDoc ESRP definition 46 publishes packages but does not expose version metadata. RushStack ESRP definitions 44 and 45 download version metadata from their matching bump runs and republish it as published-versions. This change adds the equivalent forwarding step to TSDoc, allowing consumers to move from bump definition 11 in GitHubProjects to authoritative release definition 46 in GitHubProjectsPublish.

Validation

  • compared the release flow with RushStack esrp-publish-stages.yaml
  • git diff --check
  • rush change --bump-type none reported no relevant package changes

Author automated version-bump pull requests with the Azure Pipelines GitHub App instead of the rushbot user. This avoids the CLA-signoff remediation runs that can complete without the published-versions artifact.

Forward the published-versions artifact from the matching bump pipeline run so downstream consumers can use the authoritative TSDoc release pipeline, matching the RushStack ESRP pipelines.

Initialize the artifact directory before the remaining preparation steps and rely on the default succeeded condition, so the step does not run after cancellation.
