The nightly link check of 2026-11-04 (first run after #12) failed on a single link:

broken https://doi.org/10.1098/rspa.2010.0348 - 403 Client Error: Forbidden for url: https://royalsocietypublishing.org/rspa/article/467/2130/1563-1576/83231

The DOI is correct and resolves in a browser; royalsocietypublishing.org rejects automated requests. The statistical tests of the same nightly run passed.

Change

  • docs/conf.py: linkcheck_ignore for DOIs with the Royal Society prefix 10.1098 and for royalsocietypublishing.org, with a comment on why.
  • Decision log: such sites are skipped only for this reason, and their DOIs are checked by hand when they enter references.bib.

Verification

  • Local link check: the DOI is reported as ignored.
  • The nightly workflow is dispatched on this branch; result below.

royalsocietypublishing.org answers automated requests with 403 Forbidden,
so the DOI 10.1098/rspa.2010.0348 added in #12 broke the nightly link check
although the link works in a browser. The link check now ignores DOIs with
the Royal Society prefix 10.1098 and the publisher's domain; such DOIs are
checked by hand when they enter references.bib.
