Sound settings' "Selected Sound Output Device" is not a stored flag, only both devices moving together; switching just the default left alerts behind on the old device. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Switching the output wrote only the default output device, so with "Play sound effects through: Selected Sound Output Device" alerts stayed on the previous device. macOS stores no readable flag for that choice — Sound settings just moves both devices together — so the switch now moves the system output too when it matched the default right before the switch, and only to devices that report
CanBeDefaultSystemDevice. Covers manual picks, auto-switch and Bluetooth connect.Known edge: a user who deliberately pinned effects to the device that happens to be the current default gets them moved. Multi-output (which sets the default directly) is out of scope. A user already out of sync needs to reselect the option in Sound settings once.
