What is this?

Remove Mining Twitter Data with Python from Python → Web Scraping. Fixes #978.

The page remains reachable, but its data-collection example imports Stream and StreamListener and calls the old filtered-stream API. Tweepy's documentation confirms that the v1.1 streaming endpoints were retired and Stream was removed in 4.14. In the tutorial's January 2024 author reply, the author also explains that both APIs changed and directs readers to the current Tweepy documentation.

This removes the obsolete tutorial entry rather than suggesting that a paid API account alone makes its code work. No replacement tutorial is added.

Verification

  • python scripts/check_readme.py lint: exit 0; 456 entries, zero errors or warnings (52 pre-existing informational HTTP notices).
  • git diff --check: passes.
  • Reviewed the linked tutorial and the upstream library's removal notice. No live X account or API request was used.

Checklist

  • Fixes exactly one tutorial entry.
  • README validator passes.
  • No URL shorteners or new tutorial links added.
  • Remaining addition-specific checklist items are not applicable to this removal.

The data-collection example uses Tweepy's removed Stream and StreamListener APIs and retired v1.1 streaming endpoints. Remove the entry rather than directing new readers to an example that cannot run as written.
