Current testing guidance is maintained with the source:

• Contributor test and fixture guidance
• Test-only controls
• Legacy regression-driver documentation

Run validation through the Makefile. For normal source changes use make check; use make distcheck when build or distribution files change. The scanner lists and test matrix formerly on this page describe version 1-era behavior and are not current guidance.
