Show me "this has changed", without including both pre-change and changed content

DIFF adds too much noise, while trying to show both the old and new.

PREVIEW doesn't make it possible never mind easy to see what's changed.

I'm wishing for a DIFF-PREVIEW that simply highlights the changed parts (could be at line level, or paragraph level), without including the old parts. The highlight could be as simple as a vertical bar in either side gutter, similar to what is shown when MarkDown changes are seen.

Hi @TallTed, PR Preview leverages the HTML diffing service provided by W3C. Unfortunately, the problem is finding a better lib that doesn't choke on the size of standard specs and delivers a cleaner output.

It seems https://github.com/bem/html-differ could be a good fit. Would you be interested in testing it on one or more specs?

Possibly. Please note that my primary coding language is English, with excursions into Markdown, HTML, and similar. I do all my GitHub work through the web interfaces.

I guess this is "the HTML diffing service provided by W3C"? I guess my issue should be raised against that, more than against PR-Preview, though PR-Preview will likely need some tweaking after that service gets tweaked.
