Mark the Safety Critical SIG retired following WG co-chair John Melonakos's explicit confirmation. Use historical tense for its scope and leadership, retain both meeting records and links, and direct readers to active groups and the dynamic specification. The foundation directory now clearly labels both Image and Safety Critical as retired SIGs.
September 10, 2026 is the confirmation date, not an invented effective retirement date. No historical meeting decisions, project implementations or PDFs change.
Validation: local links/anchors, document structure and whitespace checks pass. Required GitHub checks must pass before merge.
The user authorized this status update and continued push/merge after checks. Use the existing administrator review exception; this is not independent CODEOWNER approval.
