A full-stack Pokédex built with React, Express, and SQLite, powered by data from the PokéAPI.
Browse, search, and explore detailed information for every Pokémon including types, stats, evolutions, abilities, and more.
This project combines a clean React frontend with a Node.js backend.
- Frontend: React + Tailwind CSS
- Backend: Express.js + SQLite + PokéAPI data import
- Data: Pokémon, moves, items, and forms stored locally for instant access
- UI Features: Filtering, search, shiny toggle, detailed views with stats and images

- Shiny toggle for each Pokémon
- Reverse button to show Pokémon in descending order
Clicking a Pokémon opens a detailed modal page with full stats and visuals.
Displayed Information:
- Official sprites (normal & shiny)
- Pokémon cry playback
- Types and category
- Weight & height
- Gender ratio visualization
- Abilities with detailed effects
- Base stats with color-coded progress bars

A competitive team builder similar to Pokémon Showdown is in active development.
The twist: an integrated AI coach rates and explains your team using real VGC tournament data.
Planned capabilities:
- Draft a full 6-mon roster with items, abilities, natures, EVs, and moves
- Instant synergy checks (type balance, hazard control, roles, speed tiers)
- Matchup coverage vs. popular meta cores and archetypes
- Data-driven scoring using aggregated VGC results (usage trends, top-cut presence, performance metrics)
- Actionable suggestions: swap options, EV spread tweaks, and move optimizations
- Clear explanations so you know why a suggestion helps
