Convertible Cranium addresses the governance gap between AI cognition and real-world action. It is designed as a dual-engine governance substrate:
- Synapse produces bounded cognition, evidence, attestation, risk signals, and escalation context.
- Core / Kernel evaluates authority, commits governed state, issues receipts, enforces replay and policy boundaries, and controls eligible side effects.
Synapse carries cognition. Core governs action.
This is not positioned as another model, agent wrapper, or single-purpose application. The work combines infrastructure, governance contracts, evidence boundaries, and independently deployable product surfaces into a coherent category thesis for auditable AI systems.
The current GitHub portfolio is a 24-repository infrastructure ecosystem with one canonical authority boundary. The architecture and machine-readable role manifest live in cranium-portfolio, including Infrastructure Architecture v1 and Ecosystem Manifest v1. Repository separation is intentional where it preserves authority, security, release, deployment, or diligence boundaries.

A repository is deployable only when it has a reproducible install/build/test path and explicit security and evidence boundaries. Screenshots and narrative are not execution evidence. Adapters and clients must not implement a second authority engine. Canonical authority remains in the Kernel / Core repositories.
Verification evidence, including adversarial Kernel campaigns, is available under appropriate confidentiality for serious technical or investment diligence—not in unsolicited public dumps of private source.
